The purpose of the Media Planner role is to support the Planning & Strategy Director in translating the overarching media strategy into an effective tactical plan and helping see that plan through to completion.
What you'll do:
- Support client service and account management in media strategy and planning.
- Develop and foster strong relationships with internal teams and media partners.
- Work with Strategy, Creative, Activation and Analytics teams to translate the client strategy, goals, and objectives into actionable media buys.
- Develop an in-depth understanding of digital tools and platform opportunities facilitating the integration of insights and capabilities into the media planning and execution processes.
- Manage timelines by working alongside internal activation teams, external vendors, and larger cross-agency teams.
- Meet with vendors to analyze value and applicability of direct buy partnerships for client media plan, negotiating placements and rates for chosen partnerships.
- Prepare flowcharts and budgets for media plan development and maintenance, coordinate delivery of media plans and applicable assets, and ensure activation and creative teams are apprised of changes to the plan.
- Translate dense audience insights and tactical plans into digestible client presentations.
- Organize and oversee the trafficking and handoff of web creative beginning with the creation of spec documentation and ending with campaign implementation.
- Manage various aspects of client billing including invoice reconciliation as applicable.
- Performs other duties and projects as assigned.
What you need to succeed:
- Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Marketing, Advertising, or related field
- 2 Years industry Experience
Agency Experience highly preferred- Knowledge of cross-channel media capabilities and measurement solutions
- Computer Skills/Software Knowledge: Microsoft Suite, Nielsen Suite, MRI Simmons, Prisma.
Experience with other media planning and data insight tools such as Kantar, Stat Social, Helixa, Mintel, WARC, Placer.ai, etc. a bonus- Demonstrated ability to learn new software and processes quickly and proficiently
- Strong written, verbal, and organizational skills
- Independent self-starter with strong attention to detail and follow-through who is comfortable multi-tasking across projects to meet various client and internal deadlines
- A strategic thinker who asks thoughtful questions and is eager to find opportunities to answer them with insights, analysis, and data
- A love of media – and the motivation to learn and keep up with industry trends and emerging platforms
