About the Position

You will work directly with the Chief of Strategic Planning and Communications and the Communications Director. The MCAO Communications Team operates in a fast-paced environment, emphasizing collaborative and coordinated efforts to support executive priorities. We Require

  • Three or more years of professional-level experience in audio/visual, journalism, or communications position
  • Bachelor's degree in video production, graphic design, broadcasting, journalism, marketing, public relations, criminal justice, or any course of experience closely related to the field of government/criminal justice communications
  • A combination of post-secondary education and/or job-related experience may substitute for the minimum qualifications on a year-for-year basis

  • An abundance of creativity and ability to provide input on and collaborate with the team on ideas and strategies for video and audio broadcast quality elements for social media and for distribution to media outlets, among other uses
  • Quality pre-production, audio, and editing skills, with an ability to create graphics to complement video/audio elements in post-production
  • Understanding of audio/visual equipment and software products
  • Excellent customer service skills

Job Contributions

  • Produce videos on behalf of and representing the Maricopa County Attorney's Office for MCAO's website, social cast, and broadcast distribution
  • Work closely with members of the Communications team to plan, create and prepare video content for diverse platforms
  • Can interface comfortably with an elected leader and can give direction to the leader during photo shoots
  • Manage and maintain an up-to-date video library
  • Attend County Attorney events and community forums to produce video and audio stories
  • Produce subject matter content videos for internal distribution
  • Be available to occasionally work after-hours and on weekends
  • Be responsive to and comfortable with quick turnarounds and short deadlines

Working Conditions

  • Must currently possess or have the ability to obtain a valid Arizona Driver's License at the time of hire

  • Must be familiar with and can operate the following equipment: o JVC Camera Model: GY-HC500U Handheld Connected Cam 1 4K Professional Camcorder or similar device o Yolo Box Portable Multi-Camera Live Streaming Device or similar.o Final Cut Pro editing software and the Adobe Premier suite o Ability to obtain and maintain security clearance

  • Office setting in high volume, fast-paced environment with frequent stressful situations

  • Requires long periods of sitting while completing paperwork and computer activities

  • Ability to travel to and from various county locations for meetings and events

  • Ability to move up to 20 pounds
