Henry Ford health Medical Assistant Apprenticeship is a 10-month program where you are Henry Ford Health employee and will be working at a Henry Ford ambulatory clinic 16 hours a week. While gaining on the job training experience you will also be attending school full-time to obtain your Medical Assistant Certificate. Henry Ford Health will pay for your tuition and fees for a return of TWO YEARs employment. You must maintain great attendance, grades and pass your CMA exam.Partnership with MiWorks, Henry Ford College, Macomb Community College, Oakland Community College, and Schoolcraft College.What are the requirements?

- High School Diploma
- Criminal Background Check
- Pass pre-employment healthscreenings.
GENERAL SUMMARY:Under direct supervision of the mentor, performs a variety of duties to assist in providing quality and compassionate care to patients.These duties include:
- The greeting and escorting of patients to the exam room and the measurement and recording of height and weight.
- Demonstrate competency with computerized charting systems such as EPIC.
- Attend and complete an ABHES or CAAHEP accredited Medical Assistant program and demonstrate outstanding attendance while at both at work and college.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
- Enrolled in an accredited ABHES or CAAHEP Medical Assistant Program.
- Agree to obtain Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certificate through HFMG education department.
