LRA is a language assessment test that demonstrates written and oral interpretation/translation technique skills. Test will be administered if selected.Department Specific RequirementsFor SRCC: Prefer 1-2 years of experience.JOB RESPONSIBILITIESEssentialPrepares exam rooms for patient visit. Stocks and orders supplies as needed. Arranges for sterilization of instruments and makes sure equipment is clean and in good repair and in proper place before each patient visit.Escorts patients to exam rooms. May take and record vital signs. Makes sure all paperwork is completed. Assists with patient flow.Assists care givers with procedures and treatments as directed and allowed by scope of care practices.May be assigned to perform, label, and record venipuncture and capillary puncture according to written procedures.Labels and maintains proper storage for specimens and tests. Delivers tests and obtains results.Enters appropriate information into medical record, adhering to medical record guidelines. Ensures that lab reports, X-rays and other information are in patient's records. May be required to obtain pre-certification for procedures. Assures correct coding for filling and forms are in proper place in record.May monitor and record quality checks for lab tests and equipment.Uses department computer systems to enter and obtain information/documentation.Maintains quality control and participates in performance improvement projects. Attends required meetings, and in-services.Provides instructions to patient as required. Distributes out-patient education materials as directed.Schedules patients for testing procedures.Conducts all aspects of patient problem follow-up in coordination with the medical provider.Answers telephone, refers calls, makes appointments, and provides appropriate information and referrals, as needed.May be assigned to transport patients.Addendum (essential for specific dept)SRCC MEDICAL ONCOLOGY ALSO RESPONSIBLE FOR: ALL SRCC employees may be required to work at any of the offices- Radiation Oncology, Medical Oncology both in Visalia and in Hanford.MEDICAL OFFICE ASSISTANT DUTIES ALSO RESPONSIBLE FOR: Performs standard clerical duties, including sorting of mail, answering telephones, returning calls, maintaining files, copying and mailing correspondence. Able to operate all office equipment. May also be responsible for taking meeting minutes and scheduling appointments for the department. May order supplies and handle related paperwork. Schedules appointments following department procedures. Answers telephone, screens and refers calls, takes messages. Responds to routine requests for information. Greets patients and visitors in a prompt, courteous and helpful manner. Checks-in patients, verifies and updates necessary information in the medical record or computer system. Ensures proper client intake at front desk. May be required to research information needed to complete billing process. May be assigned to key charge information into computer systems for billing purposes. May determine client payment status, i.e., Medi-Cal, Insurance, Cash, etc. When necessary makes referral to benefit counselor. May collect copays, deductibles, etc. Provides receipts as required. May be assigned to complete charge postings. May obtain, maintain and file medical record, coordinate lab work, physicians reports, x-rays, etc. Distributes medical reports as assigned. May enter appropriate information into medical record, adhering to medical record guidelines. May ensures that all documents have been reviewed and filed in medical record according to procedure. Complies with confidentiality policies.URGENT CARE ALSO RESPONSIBLE FOR: Participates in the initial and ongoing assessment of the patient. Takes initial and serial vital signs as required. Properly attaches cardiac monitor and records rhythm strip as directed. Applies the SaO2 sensor as directed. Reports pertinent findings or changes in patient condition to licensed personnel. Accurately enters vital signs into patient management computer system. Transports patients during the admission and discharge process using the appropriate mode as indicated based on the patient complaint or condition. Performs 12 Lead Electrocardiograms as directed by provider or designee. Performs phlebotomies for the purpose of obtaining specimens for diagnostic evaluation. Following procedure, prepares wounds and lacerations for closure. Correctly sets up exam room for pelvic exam. When requested, assists physicians or midlevel providers with exam and specimen collection. Prepares and administers medications as directed by physician. Enters orders into electronic medical record as directed by physician.SEQUOIA INTEGRATED HEALTH ALSO RESPONSIBLE FOR: Assists with delivery and administration of medications per provider direction. Calls in prescription refills as directed. Applies simple dressings as directed. Assists practitioner with more complex dressings or other treatments. Completes well-being checks per phone as directed by providers. Relays pertinent information between physicians and other team members. Reports any abnormal conditions or results of testing to MD or mid-level practitioner in a timely manner.AdditionalDemonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care and services appropriate to the population served on the assigned unit or work area. Knowledgeable of growth and development for all patient/family cultural, linguistic, spiritual, gender, and age specific needs.
