This role requires working at the Glendale Clinic 1 day a week and will be reimbursed for mileage. Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks:
- Escort patients to and from the exam room, preparing the patient for their examination.
- Enter complete medical histories along with patients' current medications into the chart.
- Assist the Physician/Provider in the room by scribing the notes in the patient's medical record.
- Assist with setting up biopsies, excisions, suture removals, and cosmetic procedures.
- Prepare and collect path/lab specimens, notify patients of results, and schedule follow-up appointments.
- Daily cleaning and organizing exam rooms, along with stocking the rooms.
- Laboratory maintenance that includes cleaning and autoclaving instruments.
- Other duties as assigned to the back office.
QualificationsQualifications and Experience:Education: Certification preferred (i.e., Certified Medical Assistant, Certified Dermatology Technician, etc.)Experience: Minimum two years' experience in a doctor's office. Prior dermatology experience preferred.Other Requirements: NonePerformance Requirements:
- Quality written and verbal communication skills.
- Professional in appearance and mannerisms.
- Knowledgeable of medical dermatology terms/CPT, ICD-10.
- Able to demonstrate compassion and caring in dealing with others, patients and co-workers alike.
- Able to prioritize tasks, understand the provider's instructions, and know when to seek information or advice.
Equipment Operated: Standard office equipment including computers, fax machines, copiers, printers, telephones, etc. Work Environment: Position is in a well-lighted medical office environment. Occasional evening and weekend work.Physical Requirements: Must possess the manual dexterity to operate office machines including computer and calculator; stooping, bending to handle files and supplies; and mobility to complete errands or deliveries. Includes handling of sharps and chemicals. Stress can be triggered by multiple staff demands and deadlines.
