STARTING RATE: $17.34 per hourSUMMARYUnder the general supervision of the Women's Health Program Manager, this position serves as the Medical Assistant for the Women's Health Program. Performs clinical work under the supervision of a physician, NP, PA, or RN.ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES* Interview patients and record medical history.* Documents all interactions with patients in the electronic medical record including patient information, vitals, etc.* Maintains patient confidentiality and complies with HIPAA requirements.* Measure patients' vital signs such as blood pressure and weight.* Participates in and attends team meetings, staff meetings, department meetings, in-service training, committees, and other related activities as needed.* Collect and prepare samples of blood and other specimens for laboratory tests.* Maintains levels of all supplies required to provide patient care and submits orders for medical supplies for the clinic as necessary.* Provides immunizations as needed.* Ensures timely completion of administrative tasks, including reporting activities, maintenance of medical supply inventory reports, and other routine paperwork.* Assists provider with examinations.* Participates in public health emergency preparedness responses.* Performs other duties as assigned.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTSRequires a high school diploma or equivalent, completion of an accredited Medical Assistant Program, and certification as a Medical Assistant with a minimum of 12 months experience. Experience working with an electronic medical record system is preferred. Bilingual preferred.
