Based on years of experience and certificationSchedule: Full Time, Monday - FridaySUMMARY OF JOB DUTIESAssists in examination and treatment of patients under direction of healthcare providers. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
- Interviews patients, accurately takes vital signs such as: manual BP, pulse rate, temperature, 02 level, weight and height, and properly records information into EMR.
- Prepares exam rooms for examination of patients as well as stocking them.
- Hands instruments and materials to provider as directed for certain procedure.
- Cleans and sterilizes instruments.
- Performs EKG's, urinalysis, strep test, flu test, covid test, mono test, pregnancy test, checks patients A1C, etc.
- Gives injections per providers orders (intramuscular, intradermal, subcutaneous).
- Handles portal messages from patients, refill medications, order additional labs or imaging as needed, complete prior authorizations, complete precertification for imaging, etc.
- Must have effective communication skills and instructs patient and/or their family as directed by the provider.
- Call patients to discuss results as directed by the provider while maintaining patient confidentiality.
- Keys data into EMR to maintain office and patient records.
- May be required to perform duties outside of their normal responsibilities from time to time as needed or as directed by supervision (i.e. assist with patient check-in).

- Clinical Medical Assistant or Certified Medical Assistant active certificate; OR equivalent from two-year college or technical school; OR six months to one-year related experience and/or training; OR equivalent combination of education and experience to be determined by leadership.
- Knowledge of Word Processing software; Internet software, EMR systems (Athena preferred), and Database software.
WORKING ENVIRONMENTThe position requires climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, repetitive motions, and finger use. Pushing and pulling are occasionally required.
