- Prepare patients for exams by taking vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, weight, etc.), medical histories, and documenting concerns.
- Assist physicians with examinations and procedures as required.
- Administer medications and injections as prescribed by the physician.
- Perform basic laboratory tests, collect specimens (blood, urine, etc.), and prepare samples for analysis.
- Sterilize and maintain medical instruments.
- Provide patient education on treatment plans, medications, and follow-up care.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations.
Administrative Duties:
- Schedule appointments and coordinate patient flow.
- Answer phones and greet patients in a friendly and professional manner.
- Update and maintain patient medical records in electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Process billing and insurance claims, verifying patient insurance information.
- Handle patient inquiries and provide information as needed.
- Order and maintain medical and office supplies.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Medical Assistant certification preferred (CMA, RMA, or equivalent).
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant training program (Clinical and Administrative).
- Knowledge of medical terminology, clinical procedures, and patient care.
- Proficient in using medical office software and EHR systems.
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a clinical setting or physician s office.
- Basic knowledge of laboratory procedures and phlebotomy skills.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
