Job SummaryTo assist Physician's and Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) in providing quality medical care. Clinical duties may include but not limited to the following.Essential Duties & Responsibilities* Able to work in reception, answer telephone, schedule patient appointments, send letters,and triage patients over the telephone to determine the acuity of the visit and the visit-length for scheduling purposes.* Preps charts in advance (minimum of day before) of patient office/nurse only visit:* Ensures chart is current on all imaging and lab results, all lab work, any corresponding physician notes, last provider note, and recent hospital admission and discharge summaries as indicated. Obtain and review all immunization records prior to scheduled appointment to maintain accuracy and patient safety. Coordinate immunization records with the provider the day prior to the patient's visit.* Escort patient to exam room. Ensure patient flow is timely and accurate throughout the clinic.* Carry out patient history interviews. Must have a high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations and retain confidentiality.* Take and record vital signs. Prepare patient for examination. Provide patient information and instructions.* Reviews and updates medication list and past medical history for each patient daily.* Assist with medical examinations/surgical procedures. Set up/clean patient rooms.* Maintain inventory of supplies. Restock supplies in patient rooms.* Checks equipment daily to ensure accurate functioning.* Perform venipuncture, administer immunizations, prepare laboratory orders for providers, collect, and prepare laboratory specimens, change dressings, set up sterile trays and maintain sterile field, administer medications as ordered per provider, notify patient of laboratory results.* Maintain all logs and required checks (I.e., refrigerator temperatures, emergency medications, expired medications, samples, etc.)* Take telephone calls and messages and provide timely feedback and answers to patient/provider/pharmacy calls.* The information contained herein is not intended to be an all-inclusive list of the duties and responsibilities of the job, nor is it intended to be an all-inclusive list of the skills and abilities required to do the job. Experience preferred. Current BLS (CPR) certification or obtain within one month of hire. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Timely written/verbal communication with peers, professional staff, providers, and management. Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) is preferred.* Minimum Education: High School Diploma or equivalent* Minimum Certification: Certification as a Certified Medical Assistant, CPR* Minimum Skill Set: Experience with EMR, MS Word, Excel, MS Outlook
