No weekends or holidays required.\n*Candidate will be placed in appropriate job title based on education/experience. Minimum pay rate is $17.64/hr.\n As a Medical Assistant, you will assist physicians with various aspects of patient care (including clerical, environmental, and organizational tasks) ensuring patient satisfaction.\n Responsibilities:\n\nCheck schedules and organize patient flow.\nAccompany patients to exam/procedure room.\nAssist patients as needed with walking, transfers, dressing, collecting specimens, preparing for exams, etc.\nCollect patient information/history; take vitals, performing screenings per provider guidelines.\nRelay instructions to patients/families.\nSend/receive patient medical records in accordance with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and other state and federal regulations.\nPrepare patient rooms, set up instruments and equipment according to department protocol.\nClean exam/procedure rooms, instruments, and equipment between patient visits to maintain infection control.\nClean according to scheduled maintenance program and keep appropriate records.\nManage inventory of supplies; restocking exam/procedure rooms.\nComply with requirements of appropriate regulatory agencies (i.e. OSHA, CLIA, PA Department of Health).\nMaintain strict confidentiality related to medical records and other data.\nComply with all UPMC Health System policies and procedures.\nPerform phlebotomy, EKGs, and level one labs.\nPerform clinic procedures according to policy and procedure.\nAssist physicians with procedures.\nDocument patient information in the medical record.\nAnswering calls and providing pertinent information including patient education as directed.\nObtain lab/x-ray reports, hospital notes, referral information, etc.\nComplete forms/requisitions as needed.\nSchedule appointments.\nVerify insurance coverage and patient demographics.\nPrepare and manage charts to ensure information is completed and filed appropriately.\nOther front office responsibilities, as required.\n\nHigh school diploma or equivalent is required.\nMust have basic computer skills and knowledge of medical terminology, examination, diagnostic, and treatment room responsibilities.\n\n Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:\n\nCPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire\nBasic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)\n\n UPMC is an Equal Opportunity Employer/Disability/Veteran
