Position Summary:A brief description of the overall primary duties
The Medical Assistant (MA) Residency Workforce Development (WFD) Specialist uses project management, people development and clinical skills to lead the delivery of a portfolio of training, student, career exploration, and employment programs to help grow and meet the MA workforce needs of SVMC. Specialists work in a fast-paced environment that requires creativity, flexibility, initiative, adaptability, attention to detail, collaboration and communication skills.
The MA Residency WFD Specialist is responsible for the coordination, delivery and expansion of training and/or experiential work and learning programs for MA students. This includes department outreach, program planning, developing and tracking project plans, marketing and promotion, candidate or student recruitment, hiring, onboarding and monitoring the Medical Assistant Residency program. An MA Residency WFD Specialist is responsible for recordkeeping in accordance with the Department of Labor, Department of Education or other partners, monitoring competency reporting; teaching professional development sessions and regularly meeting one-on-one with program participants to monitor progress and provide coaching.

* Manages all aspects of program planning and delivery including schedule development, partner engagement, stakeholder management, communications, project management, program marketing, candidate recruitment and placement/selection, program enrollment, onboarding and orientation, licensing/credentialing, reporting and compliance for the MA Residency program.
* Meets reporting and record-keeping requirements outlined by educational partners, the States of Vermont, Massachusetts and New York, and certification or credentialing bodies.
* Collaborates with internal and external program education partners to plan and deliver the MA Residency WFD program.
* Develops and maintains partnerships with community organizations and regional high school, college and trade schools to build pipelines into the SVMC workforce.
* Implements recruitment strategies designed to develop pipelines into SVMC student, training and employment programs.
* Participates in team committees, special projects, events and new program design/development and/or new initiatives related to the MA Residency program. Responsible for planning, promoting and staffing recruitment and career exploration events.
* Provides support and guidance to candidates, and students or trainees enrolled in the MA Residency WFD program. Acts as subject matter expert on training, licensing and credentialing.
* Responsible for supporting safety and quality of work for program participants, and communicating with operational partners to ensure that work remains within the scope of assigned accesses or privileges.
* Responsible for the supervision of program participants for onboarding, orientation, electronic time system tracking and approval, management of payroll processing in accordance with policy, and performance management for applicable programs.
* Monitors the progress of programs and participants. Addresses any participant issues that arise during programs using performance improvement coaching or corrective action as appropriate. Identifies risks to program delivery, develops mitigation plans and escalates issues or problems when needed.
* Leads the delivery of professional development curriculum.
* Integrates and adopts curriculum, program and technology best practices into program portfolio.
* Evaluates the effectiveness of programs and works with leadership to ensure program quality, responsiveness to organizational workforce needs, compliance with accrediting agencies and adherence to policies.
* Updates and revises didactic and clinical curricula to align with the learning and competency outcomes.
* Conducts ongoing assessments to ensure the program curriculum meets the needs of the organization and role.
* Works closely with hiring departments to evolve programming to align with operational needs and business objectives.
* Utilizes a variety of training methodologies, techniques, concepts, learning tools and practices to ensure maximum effectiveness of training programs.
* Tracks new and emerging learning technologies and curricular practices, analyzes the feasibility of their adoption, and integrates them with current systems and programs.
* Coordinates/oversees student clinical experiences including identifying shadowing or experiential visit sites, scheduling, developing partnerships, and maintaining all required documentation.
* Performs other duties as required or assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree is preferred.
* 2 years of experience in teaching and mentoring.
* 2 years of direct relevant Clinical experience.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving CT experience.
* Excellent communication, organizational, decision-making, and leadership skills, with the ability to work independently and to collaborate effectively with a team.
* Ability to relate effectively and support diverse groups of program participants and professional learners
* Knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) strongly preferred.
* Demonstrated proficiency with Electronic Health Record systems required.

Required Licensure/Certification Skills:
