Job DescriptionWe are searching for a Medical Assistant (Mobile Clinic) - someone to gather information, assess and provide direct care to patients. Works collaboratively with other members of the healthcare team to render age-appropriate care.Think you have what it takes?
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, medical assistant/outpatient care tasks, and customer service concepts
  • Ability to demonstrate excellent interpersonal, communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills, and operate basic medical equipment
In addition to working with our team, you will also get the opportunity to drive our Mobile Clinic Super Kids Van; but do not worry, adequate training will be provided upon hire until you are comfortable Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Texas Driving License (active)
  • Prior to hire, must pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check demonstrating a clear driving record as defined by the routine driver qualifications outlined in the Texas Children's Fleet Safety Policy and Procedure.
  • Must also maintain a clear driving record.
  • Graduation from a medical assistant or emergency medical technician program
  • BLS American Heart Association certification are required
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bilingual (Spanish) preferred
  • 1 yr. experience
  • Pediatric vaccination experience
Responsibilities
  • Assists in the collection of patient/family data that may include biophysical, psychosocial, developmental, cultural, and environmental information per practice protocol.
  • Collects and documents vital signs, BMI, height/weight and reason for visit with 100% accuracy.
  • Updates documentation to include if patient has received care at any other location since last visit.
  • Documents current medications, allergies and other information in the electronic health record with 100% accuracy.
  • Assists provider, as directed, during treatments, examinations and testing as directed by provider and within scope of practice.
  • Completes treatments as directed by provider and within scope of practice.
  • Documents all interventions per practice protocol.
  • Calls in or sends electronic prescription refills as directed by provider and per practice protocol
  • Participates as a member of the care team, working with each member of the team to meet goals of patient, participates in care team meetings such as daily huddle and monthly staff meetings.
  • Coordinates patient care by following up on lab results, ER visits, or any part of care
  • Documents administration of medication and immunizations in the medical record per practice protocol.
  • Reports all medication and immunization errors to supervisor immediately after becoming aware of the error.
  • Provides patient/family education as instructed by the provider or practice protocol.
  • Documents such education in the electronic health record.
  • Verifies provider order and patient per practice protocol.
  • Collects and processes specimen according to manufacturer's instructions and using proper technique.
  • Follows practice protocol in reporting and documenting results.
  • Performs and documents scheduled quality control, instrument maintenance and calibration procedures according to manufacturer information.
