First (Days) (United States of America) Sentara Health is hiring for a Medical Assistant- RMA/CCMA/CMA/EMT-B/AEMT/Paramedic for SMG Family Internal Medicine South Norfolk in Chesapeake, VA!

Sign-on bonus up to offered to qualified candidates!

Status: Full-Time,permanent position (40 hours)

Standard working hours: M and F, 6am to 3pm EST AND T, W and TH, 8am to 5pm EST

Location: Will report daily at SMG Family Internal Medicine South Norfolk: 816 Industrial Ave #100, Chesapeake, VA 23324.

As aMedical Assistantwith Sentara, you will work directly with a doctor conducting phlebotomy (lab), clinical and clerical duties. This position's primary responsibilities include bringing the patients into rooms, taking vitals, verifying patient information, and preparing them for the doctor. Required qualifications:

  • CCMA- Certified Clinical Medical Assistant or CMA- Certified Medical Assistant or RMA- Registered Medical Assistant or EMT- Emergency Medical Technician (EMT-B, AEMT, or Paramedic) REQUIRED

  • High School Diploma or equivalent REQUIRED

  • BLS REQUIRED within 90 days of hire.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Minimum of one year experience in a healthcare setting or one year experience as an EMT, Paramedic, and/or Corpsman preferred.

  • Phlebotomy experience preferred, plus experience with electronic medical records.

Job Summary

Perform patient care and administrative/clerical related tasks and procedures based on training, education, and competency evaluations, and as delegated by and under the direction/supervision of the Physician, Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant (NP/PA), Registered Nurse (RN), or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Minimum of one year experience in a healthcare setting or one year experience as an EMT, Paramedic, and/or Corpsman preferred.
