This position is a part of Salina Regional Health Center's Medical Assistant (MA) Program with Barton Community College. Upon hire, the MA Student will actively enroll in the online MA program through Barton Community College. Under the supervision of a professional nurse, team lead, or supervisor in the department, the MA Student assists departments in clinical settings to provide quality care. This includes scheduling patient appointments, taking vital signs, transporting patients, clerical support, observation & and surveillance to prevent patient injury, and helping the professional nurse with interventions. The MA Student also interacts with other departments as needed, performs cleaning, and restocks supplies, all under the direction of their appropriate supervisor. Upon graduation from the MA Program, the student will be eligible to take the exam to earn the Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification through American Medical Technologists (AMT).
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Education
Completion of High School diploma or equivalent.
1-2 years Nurse Assistant Experience Preferred
Minimum Experience
Completion of CMA coursework within two years of hire.
Completion of Certified Nursing Assistant training
Required Registration/License/Certification
Certified Nurse Aide preferred
Basic Life Support certification from either American Red Cross CPR/AED for the Health Care Provider, or Basic Life Support (American Heart Association-Health Care Provider) within 90 days of hire.
