To facilitate recovery that focuses on dimensional wellness of the mind, body, and spirit, medical care is available to clients. The medical assistant is a resource for the clients and other medical staff in facilitating medical care.Job Duties:
- Complete all necessary competencies.
- Perform/document vital signs, withdrawal scores, CLIA- waived testing such as blood glucose measurement and document/communicate progress of clients to the Provider or medical treatment area personnel.
- Ensure that Medical Rooms are clean.
- File medical papers on current and discharged clients.
- Maintain inventory for first aid products.
- Maintain inventory of OTC medications.
- Any other tasks assigned by the medical office manager, provider, or nurses.
- Assist in self-administration of client medication.
- Assist nurses in obtaining information as assigned.
- Assist with incoming calls
- Respond to emergency situations if needed.
- Assist other departments in problem solving of client situations.
- Knowledge of recovery, mental health and other co-occurring disorders and experience in working with addiction in a residential and/or outpatient setting preferred.
RequirementsMust possess a current, valid, and unrestricted license, diploma, or certification as a Medical Assistant, CMA, SRNA, or CNA. Skill set of other professions will be considered (i.e. EMT, respiratory therapist, etc.)
- Prefer at least 2 years of experience with license/certification
- Prefer knowledge of recovery, mental health and other co-occurring disorders and experience in working with addiction in a residential and/or outpatient setting.
- Experience in crisis intervention and conflict resolution skills. Can be post hire.
- Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment.
- Valid Kentucky driver's license.
- American Heart Association CPR certification Can be post hire.
