The college offers associate of arts, associate of fine arts, associate of science and associate of applied science degrees, professional and skills certificates, and noncredit courses and programs, and workforce development training in a 14-county area in central Missouri with locations in Sedalia, Boonville, Clinton, Eldon, Lake of the Ozarks, Warsaw, at Whiteman Air Force Base, and online. Position Purpose:
  • To prepare competent, professional, entry-level medical assistants in the cognitive, psychomotor and affective learning domains. To fully prepare students for a career in medical assisting.
Essential Job Functions:
  • On-line and /or on-ground instruction (didactic and skills lab) for the medical assisting program
Required Qualifications:
  • Candidates will need to be available to teach classes on-ground one day/week.
  • In most situations, a candidate must
  • be a credentialed Medical Assistant and have a current CCMA, CMA, or RMA
  • have graduated from a recognized Medical Assistant program
  • with a minimum of 2 years full time experience (within the last 5 years) working as a Medical Assistant
  • Prefer an AAS/AA degree minimum, but will consider those without.
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems such as Canvas should be noted in resume.
Skills:
  • Have a working knowledge of computers as a medium to manage and improve instruction.
  • Ability to interact with a broad range of people both on and off campus in a positive manner.
  • Show evidence of excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Possess an understanding of the range of needs community college students represent.
  • Possess a commitment to the philosophy and mission of the community college.
  • Willingness to improve instruction through professional development including pedagogy and technology.

  • Ability to actively work in a classroom / skills lab setting. There is frequent sitting, walking, standing and stooping required. There is an occasional need to lift objects (up to 10 pounds) and perform other similar actions during the course of the workday.
This position pays $625 per credit hour. *Completed applications will include SFCC application, cover letter, resume and if applicable transcripts.
