Medix is hiring a Medical Biller in Melville, NY to support a large healthcare organization! This is a full time, on-site position.
Responsibilities/ Job Duties:
- Processing of billing for Medicare, Medicaid and/or commercial payers.
- Posting of payments and adjustments to patients accounts.
- Review denials from payer sources and provide necessary follow-up.
- Work on Accounts Receivable reports to maintain that all payments have been received and posted accurately.
- Follow-up with outstanding accounts either electronically or speaking to insurance companies.
- Obtain necessary insurance verification for coverage.
- Run reports in Epic as necessary for financial or statistical purposes.
Schedule/ Shift:
Monday- Friday
8AM-4PM
Minimum Education and Experience Qualification Requirements:
- 1+ year of medical billing experience
- Excellent organizational skills. Ability to troubleshoot and investigate rate discrepancies.
- Computer experience with insurance companies.
- Personal traits include: courtesy, discretion and professional manner.
