Learn more about why we are one of the Best Companies to Work for in Texas.Job SummaryMedical Couriers are responsible for the transportation of medical items to/from labs, hospitals, clinics and other healthcare facilities, or the on-campus transportation of UMC guests.Reports to: Manager of Courier ServicesJob Specific ResponsibilitiesDaily assignments may include but are not limited to:* Responsible for transporting labs, deposits, mail, supplies, equipment, linens, medications, and paperwork to and from the hospital, local labs, or any other partnering facilities* Driving the UMC campus shuttle, or golf cart, and transporting patients, employees or visitors from one site on the campus, to another site on campus* Logging vehicle mileage and maintenance information in the company logbook* All other assigned duties related to UMC CourierEducation and Experience* High School Diploma or GEDRequired Licensures/Certifications/Registrations* Valid Texas Driver's License with clean driving recordSkills and Abilities* Effective written and verbal communication* The ability to drive a commercial vehicle safely* Able to handle physical exertion and movementInteraction with Other Departments and Other RelationshipsThis position will interact with clinic staff, patients and their family members, health care providers, UMC guests, students, volunteers, and fellow employeesPhysical CapabilitiesWork requires driving, walking, pushing, pulling, and lifting.Environmental/Working ConditionsThis position is subject to both internal environments of a vehicle, and external environments while transporting items.UMC Health System provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment and prohibits discrimination and harassment on the basis of race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local laws.* Request for accommodations in the hire process should be directed to UMC Human Resources.*
