ExemptChief Executive OfficerTGC Medical Staff, including all temporary, visiting, consulting, and active staff. This position also supervises the Director of Nursing.The Medical Director is an on-site, licensed, board-certified physician responsible for the clinical operational effectiveness and the quality of care provided by TGC Medical Staff and Nursing Staff. The Medical Director provides oversight, leadership and quality management for TGC's medical programs, hospital, and infection prevention and control. As a member of the Executive Leadership Team, the Medical Director participates in and provides support for The Guidance Center's strategic and business planning. The Medical Director operates, as per the approved TGC Medical Bylaws, acting as the _ex oficio_ President of the Medical Staff, assuring enforcement of the Bylaws and any associated rules and regulations, including Medical Staff appointment and reappointment procedures. The Medical Director provides general psychiatric services to children and adults, including psychiatric evaluations and management, both routine and emergent, consultations, Title 36 psychiatric evaluations and court testimony.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS_*President of the Medical Staff*_1. Is responsible for assuring the enforcement of Medical Staff bylaws, and any associated rules and regulations, for implementation of sanctions where these are indicated, and for the Medical Staff's compliance with procedural safeguards in all instances where corrective action has been required against a Medical Staff member.2. Chairs the Medical Executive Committee.3. Ensures that the Medical Executive Committee has the responsibility to extend, for cause, established deadlines for Staff appointment, reappointment, and procedures on an individual basis.4. Interprets the policies of the Governing Body and TGC, and report to the Governing Body on the performance and maintenance of quality with respect to the medical care and treatment provided at TGC.5. Fosters activities of the Medical Staff.6. Prepares items to be placed on the agenda for Medical Executive Committee meetings and Medical Staff meetings.7. Aids in establishing the type and scope of clinical services required to meet the needs of TGC members.8. Arranges for orientation and continuing education of Medical Staff.9. Participates in the selection of resources for needed services not provided by the organization.10. Continually assesses and improves Quality of Care and services, including the implementation of a planned and systematic process for monitoring and evaluating the quality and appropriateness of the care and treatment of patients and the clinical performance of all individuals with clinical privileges.11. Provides leadership and consultation in matters affecting patient care, including needs for personnel, equipment, space, supplies, special regulations, and techniques.12. Ability to see TGC members up to 50% of work time._*Teamwork*_1. Participates as a member of the Executive Leadership Team, demonstrating organizational teamwork that ensures optimal clinical outcomes for TGC members.2. Provides leadership and supervision for all Medical Staff at The Guidance Center.3. Oversees Title 36 services in compliance with The Guidance Center's Title 36 contract with Coconino County.4. Provides medical supervision and administrative direction to medical and support staff.5. Participates in Administrator On-Call coverage, and Medical Staff call coverage.6. Provides consultation to non-TGC medical practitioners, health care professionals and community groups on public health matters._*New Initiatives*_1. Develops and participates in new initiatives such as program enhancements, integrated care initiatives, wellness programs, grants, community outreach, etc. including but not limited to ensuring quality clinical outcomes, while designing and supporting cost-effective clinic operations._*Accountability*_1. Establishes systems of accountability for Medical Staff to include productivity benchmarks, performance measures, and controls for clinic quality assurance and revenue.2. Assures high quality and safe services for members and staff by enforcing and adhering to policies, procedures, standards, rules, The Joint Commission requirements, and legal regulations; by participating in utilization and quality reviews; by utilizing a trauma-informed perspective and by availability for emergency consultations.3. Writes and updates TGC policies, procedures, protocols and plans as required._*Staff Development*_1. Improves staff competence by providing clinical leadership, training, and discussions regarding evidence-base practices/best practices on wellness, and psychiatric and physical health care.2. Facilitates monthly clinical/educational and operational meetings for Medical Staff.3. Assists with the recruiting and selection of all Medical Staff.4. Oversees and coordinates Medical Student clinical rotations at TGC._*Community Relations*_1. Enhances Medical Staff department's and The Guidance Center's reputation and community value by exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments and providing excellent, responsive and welcoming customer service to internal and external customers and stakeholders.*Required:*· MD or DO, Board Certified in Psychiatry.· Ability to obtain licensure in Arizona.· Minimum of 5 years of experience in a leadership position that includes supervising medical and nursing professionals.· Active Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) registration, including buprenorphine waiver.· Knowledge of current principles and practices of medicine and psychiatric care.· Knowledge of principles, practices and medications involved in diagnosing and treating behavioral health disorders.· Experience in public mental health systems generally with emphasis on the Arizona system, including funding mechanisms, rights and responsibilities and the involuntary treatment provisions contained in the Title 36 laws.· Strong computer and electronic medical record skills and analytics.· Valid Driver's License and ability to pass TGC driver's background screening.· Ability to obtain Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card (AZDPS).· Must work onsite at The Guidance Center's Flagstaff campus.Job Type: Full-timePay: From $320,000.00 per yearBenefits:* 401(k)* 401(k) matching* Dental insurance* Health insurance* Health savings account* Life insurance* Paid time off* Vision insuranceSchedule:* Monday to Friday* On callEducation:* Doctorate (Required)Experience:* Leadership: 5 years (Preferred)License/Certification:* Medical License (Preferred)Ability to Relocate:* Flagstaff, AZ 86004: Relocate before starting work (Required)Work Location: In person
