All communications between crews, callers, hospitals, management and others flows through the dispatcher. This position requires a strong team player with a professional attitude, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to work well under pressure to ensure that all calls are responded to safely and rapidly.Key Duties and Responsibilities :Working directly with hospitals, healthcare provider, facilities, patients, patient's family members and patient caretakers' patient to set up any and all transportVerifying patients' insurance coverageAnswering phone calls and making phone callsTaking insurance information for company billing departmentProcessing credit card paymentsDispatching calls using radio codes and practicesRequired Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Knowledge of Medical TerminologyExcellent interpersonal and communication (both verbal and written) skills and ability to communicate clearly in EnglishStrong attention to detail and the ability to multi-task in a fast paced environmentAbility to establish effective working relationships with personnel from multiple departments and divisionsFlexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed – due to the nature of the EMS industry we operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a weekPreferred Experience:Previous Emergency Medical Services (EMS) experience, Strongly PreferredPrevious experience utilizing Computer Assisted Dispatch (CAD) systems or similar systemsInstaCare EMS is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.
