Job Description Summary
Supports high quality Point of Care Testing (POCT) testing at the point of service. Point of Care Testing (POCT) SOP development and regulatory compliance as well as performing training and competency assessment of clinical services personnel. Performs quality control, maintenance, troubleshooting, evaluations and correlations of POCT instrumentation. Reviews and evaluates POCT data and patient results for acceptability; resolves aberrant data and results; Effective communication skills; model Standards of Behavior in daily interactions and activities; routinely rounds on customers to ensure needs are met. Performs other duties as required.
Job Description
Performs a variety of routine and specialized diagnostic medical lab tests as requested by healthcare staff according to established protocols and procedures. Prepares specimens for microscopic examination or testing procedures. Operates automated laboratory instrumentation and equipment. Performs quality control and assurance procedures. Records lab results in specified system. Follows all required privacy, safety, and biohazard procedures and standards.
Additional Job Description
Minimum Training and Education: An Associates degree in Clinical Laboratory Technology
Required Licensure, Certifications, Registrations: Certification by the American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP). If not certified, must be registry eligible and enrolled to take certification exam during the first year of employment
