MLT/MT - PRNSummary: MLT is a laboratory professional with 2 year medical laboratory degree or MT with a 4 year degree. Provide accurate laboratory test results when accepting or obtaining best specimen possible for the ordered test using proper supplies and/or equipment. Serve patient needs from all age groups from neonate through geriatric patients.Reports to: Lab ManagerEssential Duties & Responsibilities:* Performs laboratory testing and procedures in any/all areas of the laboratory* Evaluates results for clinical significance and validity, exercising independent judgment and responsibility with minimal technical supervision, and for recognition of atypical/abnormal results requiring additional follow up.* Ensures quality control is acceptable and instrumentation is functioning within defined tolerance limits.* Actively participates in quality improvement activities on an ongoing basis and complies with standard operating procedures.* Reports timely, accurate test results* Keep equipment properly maintained and calibrated.* Provide direction and assistance to other staff during shift* Assists ongoing lab review and improvements and other duties assigned by lab managerMinimum Qualifications:Education: Associate's degree from accredited school of Medical Lab ScienceExperience: 1 year experience and certification from ASCP, AMT, HHS or equivalent agency preferred.SHIFT: Varies* MMH is an equal opportunity employer*
