We are the heart and science of medicine.We are UVM Medical Center. JOB DESCRIPTION: Performs, calculates, reviews and reports laboratory diagnostic tests. Maintains and troubleshoots laboratory equipment. Understands the clinical significance of the testing performed. Responsibilities for teaching, training, correction of procedural/instrument issues increase through the range of MLS I to MLS III. EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in biological science or chemistry and current Medical Laboratory Scientist certification.(Certification tracked by department.) EXPERIENCE: Meets requirements of MLS I.Expanded knowledge of laboratory tests. Candidate will be hired in as an MLS I or MLS II based on experience. Salary in posting reflects pay of MLS II position. SCHEDULE NOTE: Shift will be from 3:30 pm - 12:00 am . This position also has 3 weekend shifts per month. SIGN ON BONUS: External candidates are eligible for up to a $3,000 sign-on bonus for new grads, up to $5,000 for individuals with more than three years of experience.
