Department: ICE | LPSL CPATH Human Lympho Antibodies Department's Website: Summary of Job Duties: This position will work under the supervision and direction of the HLA laboratory supervisor. MLS II in the HLA laboratory performs a variety of technical procedures including HLA typing by rSSO and next generation sequencing methods, Luminex based HLA Antibody identification, and donor/recipient flow cytometric cross-matching. They are expected to keep all instrumentation in good working order and identify and notify the supervisor or lead tech of instrument malfunctions. The MLS II fulfills all the responsibilities and tasks of a MLS I as well as performing quality assurance metric studies, and training/competency assessments. Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a chemistry, biology, or medical laboratory science 2 years of experience in a clinical laboratory CHT (ABHI) certification within 1 year of eligibility. If eligible at time of hire then within 1 year of hire date. Must be able to identify and report abnormal test results as well as communicate and interact with reviewing Pathologists and submitting clinicians. Must be able to work independently, multi-task, and make subjective decisions. Must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
