Job Responsibilities
  • Adhere to laboratory procedures for specimen handling, processing, test analyses, result reporting, and record maintenance.
  • Ensure proficiency testing samples are handled and tested in accordance with patient specimens.
  • Perform specimen analyses using approved testing procedures.
  • Review and release test results accurately and efficiently.
  • Follow CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA, and safety guidelines as prescribed.
  • Abide by established laboratory policies and procedures when test systems deviate from acceptable performance levels.
  • Identify and address problems that may impact test performance or result reporting, either resolving them independently or escalating to senior technologists or supervisors.
QualificationsEducation:
  • Bachelor of Science (BS) in Medical Technology preferred.
  • Alternatively, BS/BA in Chemistry or Biology, or associate degree in a Laboratory Science or Medical Technology, or previous qualification as a Technologist under 42 CFR 493
Work Experience:
  • 1 year of clinical experience (preferably in high complexity testing)
