JOB TITLE: Medical Liaison (Direct Support Professional) CLASSIFICATION: Full Time, Non-Exempt PROGRAM/DEPARTMENT: Medical Transport IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Manager of Medical Transport POSITION SUMMARY: Enhance quality of life for people with developmental disabilities by attending medical appointments, and sharing information with medical professionals, the Nursing Care Coordinator and program Registered Nurse. Complete documentation accurately, timely and according to appointment requirements. Administer medications and other related services as prescribed and under the clinical supervision of an RN. Function as vehicle driver for transportation to medical appointments. QUALIFICATIONS:Minimum Education, Training & Experience: High school diploma or equivalent Experience providing direct care services to people with disabilities ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Valid Driver's license and excellent driving record that meets agency standards Ability to be a positive role model for people with disabilities. Ability to confidentially and effectively communicate and resolve concerns with medical professionals, vendors and agency nurses. Ability to demonstrate good understanding of medical terminology and medical documents. Ability to work flexible hours as needed. Ability to provide assistance with medical duties as assigned. Ability to conducts self in a professional manner.
