FULL TIME DAYS POSITIONNO WEEKENDSUnder general supervision from a Departmental Chairman or Medical Director, provides personal, secretarial, clerical, and administrative support services such as preparing correspondence in final form, receiving visitors, scheduling meetings, maintaining files,and conducting special projects as assigned. Duties require a thorough knowledge of supervisor's areas of responsibility in order to gather data and prepare reports, answer correspondence, conduct projects, and so forth. Performs office management functions such as directing work of lower classified clerical employees, purchasing standard supplies and performing routine bookkeeping and billing functions.EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION REQUIRED:HS/GED with five or more years of progressively responsible secretarial/administrative work experience required to provide familiarity with office systems required. Knowledge of medical terminology required. Proficiency in Microsoft Software Programs required. Ability to transcribe dictation from a recording machine. Ability to take dictation at 100 wpm is highly desirable. Requires advanced interpersonal skill in order to coordinate the work of others and to interface with all levels of hospital management and outsiders.PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS: Vision - Near Acuity: Ability to see clearly at 20 inches or less. Depth Perception: Ability to judge distance and space relationships. Accommodation: Ability to adjust vision to bring objects into focus.
