DUTIES

JOB KNOWLEDGE AND ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. ICD 10 coding

2.Organizes the medical records section in accordance with established policies and procedures. Maintains the highest level of confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.

3.Conducts routine, qualitative, and quantitative audits. Reports findings periodically and as requested and assists with ensuring follow-up/corrections are completed, when assigned,

4.Develop and maintain a good working rapport with inter-department personnel.

5. Initiates the in-house active and overflow files and prepare labels/forms in coordination with the admission process.

6.Thin in-house records in accordance with written policy and procedure and file in chart order for discharge in the overflow record.

7.Returns records to nursing services for any necessary corrections.

8. Maintain the in-house chart appearance and organization.

9. FIle all incoming clinical information in the active and overflow charts on a daily basis.

10. Prepare paperwork for discharge and assemble record in discharge chart order.

11. Support and assist in release of information as assigned by the Medical Records Coordinator.

12. Participates in meetings and committees as requested.

QUALIFICATIONS

SUMMARY OF QUALIFICATIONS:

1.High School Degree, or higher and previous Medical Records and computer experience preferred.

2. ICD 10 Coding experice requierd

3.Successfully completes facility conducted orientation, mandatory training and in-service programs.

4.Must be capable of performing the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation.

5.Must be able to communicate in English, both verbally and in writing and possess sufficient communication skills to perform the tasks required.
