DescriptionThe work location for this position is Lewiston, IdahoFull-Time: 80-hrs per pay periodHours: 8:00am - 4:30pmBenefits May Include:* Medical, Dental, Vision* 401k w/ employer match* Short & Long-term disabilities* Life & AD&D insurances* Employee Assistance Program* Pet Insurance* and more…Position Summary:The Medical Records Clerk is responsible for timely and accurate qualitative/quantitative analysis of records, scanning and form assignment, for monitoring physician documentation deficiencies, for retrieval and release of health information, and for a working knowledge of the required component parts for all types of patient records processed by the HIS department.Primary (Essential) Duties:* Organizes medical record documents following established systems, ensuring timely and accurate filing to the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).* Files records utilizing a variety of filing systems and utilizes optical imaging software.* Retrieves records and assists physicians in performing chart completion activities.* Assists in analysis of inpatient, outpatient and ER records.* Performs understanding and ability to scan and assign form IDs for all documents scanned to the EMR.* Receives and answers routine inquiries from patients, insurance companies, physician offices and others regarding patient records, birth verifications, and dates of medical service. Routes non-routine calls to Level II staff.* Provides patient specific information to physician offices to facilitate patient care and physician office billing.* Ensures the integrity of the Facility Master Patient Index by monitoring the assignment of the unique medical record number and performing MERGE PATIENT computer routines where necessary.* Performs routine clerical tasks including reception activities, answering routine requests for patient record information.* Provides basic instructions to physicians regarding dictation procedures and transcription inquiry procedures. Assists physicians in use of the Physician Workstation Management module.* Compiles computerized reports detailing physician delinquencies, chart location recipients and correspondence database reports.* Copies and distributes reports for physicians, insurance companies, hospitals and other referral agencies.Scion Health considers a consistently positive, cooperative, self-motivated, courteous, and professional attitude to be an essential function of every position.
