If you're passionate about delivering exceptional care and making a meaningful impact, we'd love to have you on board.Position Summary: The Medical Records Clerk is responsible for managing and maintaining patient records for HealthFlex Home Health and managing doctors orders. This role ensures the accuracy, confidentiality, and security of medical records in compliance with healthcare regulations and agency policies. This role is essential in ensuring the integrity and accessibility of patient information, thereby supporting the overall quality of care provided by HealthFlex.
  • Record Management: Organize, update, and maintain accurate electronic medical records including but not limited to; uploading of physical orders, Health Management Profile (HMP), lab results and other patient care documents
  • Orders Management: Responsible for distribution and timely collection of signed physician orders (via DocuSign, fax, Forcura, courier, etc.).
  • Data Entry: Accurately input patient information into the agency's electronic health record (EHR) system.
  • Compliance: Ensure all records comply with state, federal, and agency regulations. Coordinates collection of any missing information or documentation.
  • Confidentiality: Ensures patient confidentiality is met by adhering to Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and Protected health information (PHI) rules and regulations
  • Audit Preparation: Assist with preparing records for audits and reviews.
  • Coordination: Collaborates with healthcare providers, patients, and administrative staff to facilitate the flow of information including but not limited to the coordination of Durable Medical Equipment (DME) and working with Case Managers regarding resumptions of care post hospitalization discharge.
  • Communication: Handle difficult and/or sensitive matters with careful judgment and tact on a consistent basis escalating to leadership as appropriate
  • Training: Provides training to new staff as well as cross trains in other areas for coverage
  • Administrative Duties: Performs tasks such as but not limited to; phone coverage, print/scan/faxing of documents, preparing mail/shipments, distributing documents and courier coordination

Requirements
  • Previous experience in medical records management, preferably in home health or similar setting.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, proficiency in EHR systems, understanding of HIPAA regulations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Google Suite and other relevant software.
