Medical Science Liaison, Remote (needs to live in Northeast)

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Drive the development of thought leader relationship-building in strategic disease areas.The MSL is responsible for cultivating current and future experts in academic and clinical medicine at regional and national levels, educating and expanding the science supporting Sirtex products.The MSL will be a scientific partner to the commercial field team.Liaise regularly with internal commercial leaders to share feedback and issues from external experts.Represent Sirtex at medical meetings, conferences, advisory board, outreach meetings at key institutions, and in interactions with thought leaders and strategic corporate partners.Identify key thought leaders for medical education and clinical research opportunities.Report to Head of Medical Affairs and work with appropriate cross-functional partners to develop and execute strategic thought leader plans to provide needs-based, value-added services and to improve their advocacy.Identify research opportunities in the form of Investigator Initiated Trials (IIT's) and facilitate the initiation of research projects.Provide field-based medical support to Company's global clinical research programs.Deliver high-caliber medical education presentations and gather valuable feedback.Gather and disseminate competitive intelligence from multiple sources.Complete accurate and timely administrative reports, projects, and required documentation requests.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- PharmD, PhD, or MD with at least two years of experience in the pharmaceutical or medical device industry in Medical Affairs.
- Strong leadership qualities and ability to influence and motivate staff.
- Must be able to quickly understand and assimilate medical knowledge and critically interpret cutting-edge science.
- In-depth knowledge of complex diseases and the associated medical challenges.
- Effective at giving presentations to internal and external audiences.
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced team environment.
- Ability to travel up to 75% of the time with associated weekend work expectations.
The target base salary range for this position will range from $175,000 to $203,000 annually. Individual compensation will be based on non-discriminatory factors, including your geographic location, skills, experience, education, and other factors as they relate to the position requirements.
In addition to the expected base compensation, this role is eligible to participate in Sirtex's incentive programs (target bonus of 20%) and benefit plans, which include paid sick and vacation time, health insurance, and a generous 401k matching program.
