As a Medical Support Clerk for Choctaw Workforce Solutions (CWS), you will be the first point of contact for our patients and play a key role in ensuring seamless daily operations. YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Patient and Staff Coordination:
  • Welcome and guide visitors, patients, and callers, directing them to the appropriate departments and answering inquiries professionally.
  • Assist patients and healthcare providers with proper documentation, ensuring patient information is accurately recorded and disposed of per provider guidance.
  • Effectively support patients throughput by meeting or exceeding the average patient-per-hour of the collective Clinical Practitioners (CPs), promptly reporting any factors that may impact this standard.
  • Record Management:
  • Retrieve, screen, and update medical records, including Unit Manning Rosters (UMRs).
  • Manage medical files by coordinating with the Records Manager and maintaining organized filing systems ensuring accessibility.
  • Data Entry and Reporting:
  • Input essential information into systems such as the Medical Operations Data System (MODS) and Medical Protection System (MEDPROS) to maintain accurate records.
  • Provide regular database reports, supporting department objectives with reliable data tracking and reporting.
  • Perform diverse data entry tasks with high accuracy, upholding MTF established policies and procedures for quality standards and national benchmarks.
  • Supply and Inventory Management:
  • Monitor and maintain an adequate supply of medical forms and other necessary items, submitting re-supply requests as needed ensuring resources are always available.
  • Productivity & Compliance:
  • Adhere to productivity standards and maintain a level of performance consistent with other team members.
  • Ensure compliance with health, immunization, and vaccination requirements, and complete all specified DoD, DHA, and MTF training.
  • WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR: Education:
    • High school diploma or equivalent with at least one (1) year of college.
    • Must be a United States citizen.
    Experience:
    • Minimum of one (1) year of experience within the last three (3) years as a medical clerk in a hospital, clinic, or doctor's office.
    Licensure & Certifications:
    • Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by the American Red Cross or the American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers.
    Skills & Competencies:
    • Technical Proficiency:
    • Proficiency with data entry and database management systems, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in record-keeping.
    • Organizational Skills:
    • Exceptional organizational skills to manage sensitive patient records securely while maintaining an orderly filing system.
    • Interpersonal Communication:
    • Strong interpersonal communication skills for engaging with patients and staff, promoting a welcoming environment.
    • Confidentiality Awareness:
    • Understanding of HIPAA guidelines and patient confidentiality, ensuring all patient interactions and records are managed with discretion.
    WORK CONDITIONS: Location:
    • Work will primarily be performed at William Beaumont Army Medical Center (WBAMC) and affiliated facilities within a forty (40) mile radius with potential assignments based on operational needs.
    Schedule:
    • Hours may vary based on mission requirements, including surge support during mobilizations and demobilizations. Flexibility is required to meet mission demands.
