Unit Receptionist - Patient Care TechnicianMedical | Surgical2nd Shift 32 Hours BenefitsEvery Other WeekendDay Kimball Healthcare is Hiring UR/PCT's!UR/PCT Job Summary:The UR/PCT person performs the clerical duties and facilitates the smooth functioning of the patient care unit. Under the direction of a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse, assists the staff nurse with specific patient activities.UR/PCT Essential Responsibilities:Unit Receptionist completes all necessary forms, requisitions, communications and special projects as assigned. Accurately transcribes physicians' orders (when applicable).Acts as a central communication resource at the nursing station for all patient care activities. Maintains good customer service and patient confidentiality.Accurately inputs and retrieves data.Initiates, maintains, replaces or completes various clerical forms, reports, supplies, etc.Patient Care TechnicianAssists patients and nurses as necessary with ADL, Vital Signs, and patient Plan of Care.Assists patients and nurses with lifting and positioning, using proper body mechanics.Functions in role of Constant Attendant and responds to Resusci-team page and Crisis Team page when directed by Nurse Director/designee.Transports (or assists with transport) of patients to other units or departments as necessary.Reports any changes observed in condition or behavior of patients.UR/PCT Education Requirements:High School Diploma or equivalent required.Upon hire, a current CNA certification, or completion of one year of clinical experience in an accredited RN nursing program, or EMT-B, or equivalent (i.e., documented/verified years of acute care hospital experience as a CNA) required.Current AHA Healthcare Provider CPR certification or equivalent within 3 months of hire required.UR/PCT Experience Requirements:Medical terminology/keyboarding skills preferred.Experience in clerical or receptionist position preferred.Previous experience in an acute care environment preferred.UR/PCT Benefits Summary:Medical/Dental/VisionPharmacy PlanBasic & Supplemental Life InsuranceShort & Long Term DisabilityHSA or FSA accountsAccident & Critical Illness Coverage401K Plan with matchVacation TimeSick DaysPaid HolidaysEducation ReimbursementAdditional benefitsDay Kimball Healthcare is a non-profit, integrated medical services provider comprised of Day Kimball Hospital, healthcare centers in Danielson, Dayville, Plainfield and Putnam, Day Kimball HomeCare, Hospice & Palliative Care of Northeastern CT and Day Kimball Medical Group.
