Medical Lab TechnicianThe Medical Laboratory Technician performs routine tests in various areas such as hematology, biochemistry, etc., using standard techniques and equipment. The Medical Laboratory Technician may make qualitative determination of sugar in urine, make blood cell counts, and prepare and mount specimens for microscopic examination. ProductivityPerforms an acceptable productivity level without a significant error rate on a variety of medical technology procedures including but not limited to performing tests on cells and microorganisms in body fluids, examining growth patterns of bacteria and fungus in patient specimens and cultures, analyzing blood and other body fluids, and performing blood compatibility testing.Demonstrates initiative in adapting to changes or unusual circumstances, especially those not covered by written or verbal instructions, in a way that promotes cooperation and minimizes disruption to the working environment.Assists in care and maintenance of laboratory work area and furnishings/equipment.Coordinates, plans, and utilizes time efficiently in an effort to prioritize and organize duties while remaining flexible to meet the needs of the laboratory customers.
