JOB TITLE: Medical Transport Specialist CLASSIFICATION: Full Time, Non-ExemptPROGRAM/DEPARTMENT: Medical TransportIMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Medical Transport Supervisor POSITION SUMMARY: Coordinates all medically-related appointments within the Residential Program to increase efficiency, ensure timeliness, appropriateness and quality of care. Maintains existing relationships with medical providers and develops partnerships with new providers. Participates in the coordination of travel to and from medically-related appointments, working cooperatively with the Medical Transport Supervisor. Serves as the primary liaison with Residential Program RN's, Site Managers and medical providers to share information regarding medical appointments and follow-up. Provides oversight to the medical liaisons, supports them in accomplishing their job duties through ongoing instruction and guidance. Responds appropriately to emergencies and other unusual situations by following established procedures. Provides documentation that satisfies regulatory requirements by completing paperwork accurately, in a timely manner and according to established procedures. QUALIFICATIONS:Minimum Education, Training & Experience:Associates Degree in Healthcare related field or Human ServicesThree (3) years of experience working in healthcare or High School Diploma or Equivalent Five (5) years of experience working in healthcareFunctional knowledge of basic computer applications (Excel, word-processing, e-mail, etc.)Valid driver's license, acceptable driving record and reliable transportationPreferred Education, Training & Experience:Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare related field or Human ServicesESSENTIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES:Ability to work autonomously without direct supervisionAbility to be a self-directed learnerAbility and willingness to work a flexible scheduleAbility to comfortably and clearly present information to adult learners Ability to maintain positive relationships with medical offices and staff.Ability to comprehend medical insurance and billing and use that knowledge to act as a resource to the Medical Transport and Nursing Teams as well as other programs as needed.Demonstrates knowledge of medical terminology with the ability to read and understand medical documents.Demonstrates strong organizational skillsDemonstrates excellent interpersonal skills and effective oral and written communication skillsSALARY:$20 per hour starting rateFull Job Description Available Upon Request Benefits - Intandem Contact us for more InformationAn equal opportunity employer.
