OVERVIEW:
The Extrusion Operator's primary role is to set up, operate, and maintain plastic extrusion equipment in the manufacturing of custom and complex medical tubing.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Set-up, tear down and operate full range of extrusion equipment such as extruders, dryers, water tanks, pullers, puller/cutters, conveyors, winders crossheads, air injectors, etc.
- Detect and report improper operation, faulty equipment, defective materials, and unusual conditions to Supervisor.
- Maintain and monitor extrusion line activity; where necessary adjust to hold specified tolerances.
- Utilize various types of measuring equipment and tools to ensure items conform to exacting dimensional requirements.
- Maintain work area and equipment in a clean, safe, and orderly condition.
- Maintain all quality standards.
- Move materials as necessary in performance of duties.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Previous extrusion experience is strongly preferred.
- Must be able to lift 50+ pounds.
- Must be able to read blueprints.
- Basic math skills - able to calculate gross, tare, and net weights.
- Must have good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Must have good documentation skills.
- Must have strong attention to detail.
- Must have the ability to work well with others in a team environment.
