The Shire Senior Living is looking for a full-time Medication Coordinator. Previous pharmacy experience preferred.
The right candidate will enjoy working closely with our residents, be passionate about providing high quality care in addition to providing over sight, training and supervision of our Med Techs.
Reports to: Assistant Administrator
Responsibilities Include:
Respects and maintains resident confidentiality and demonstrates a caring, positive attitude toward all residents, staff and guests.
Order supplies including but not limited to (medications, treatments, oxygen, oxygen supplies,)
Trains new Medication Aides on the Shire guidelines and procedures for assisting residents with their medications.
Conducts regular Quality Assurance (QA) audits, to assure proper medication administration procedures are being followed.
Oversee maintaining the medication room in a neat and orderly fashion.
Oversee/assure that new orders for medications after Dr. Visits, hospitalizations, etc. are adjusted on medications sheets and ordered through the pharmacy in a timely manner.
Oversees In-House Doctor visits (works collaboratively with Director of Case Management & Director of Patient Services to ensure required documentation needs are met).
Monitors to ensure proper documentation of Narcotics is completed at each shift change, works collaboratively with RN Director of Patient Services on Narcotic Destruction.
Initiate proper disposal of filled sharps containers and putting new sharps containers into use.
Oversee proper documentation of Temperature, and COVID screening questions done by staff on a regular basis.
Monthly MAR check.
Works collaboratively with Pharmacy on trainings and audits.
Performs other duties as requested or assigned.
