Description:We are seeking a Medication Technician (Certified Pharmacy Technician or Certified Medical Assistant) to join our medically integrated dispensary team!At Cancer Care Associates of York, we strive to provide our community with innovative, comprehensive, and compassionate care which respects the values and needs of each individual diagnosed with cancer or blood disorders.Cancer Care Associates of York has been an independent, physician-owned practice for over 40 years, treating patients in the York, PA, community for their oncology and hematology needs.Check out our website; www.cancercareyork.com.JOB SUMMARY: The Dispensary Medication Technician is responsible for operating the CCAY Dispensary, including dispensing, inventory management, and insurance processing, while ensuring efficient and effective service that provides the highest quality of care to its patients.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS – JOB DUTIES:1) Provides direct dispensary services to patients including dispensing, counseling, and advising in accordance with CCAY guidelines.2) Maintains inventory by inspecting dispensary stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed medications and supplies; verifying receipt; and removing outdated drugs.3) Responsible for keeping an inventory log of medication needs of practice updated and reviewed according to CCAY guidelines.4) Prepares daily morning reports for dispensary operations.5) Accepts and processes accurate payments from patients in exchange for medications.6) Makes outbound calls to patients for medication compliance.7) Maintains compliance and tracking of outside pharmacy fill tracking.8) Reviews any financial payment costs regarding refills or medication fills of patients with the Oral Leadership team.9) Processes insurance claims and posts payments according to CCAY guidelines.10) Helps patients by greeting them in person and by phone; answering questions and requests to provide quality and professional service.11) Seeks financial resources and alternative funding available for appropriate patients such as copay foundations, copay cards, and indigent programs prior to receiving treatment, and managing the processes of keeping all these functions flowing with renewals, updates, etc.12) Complies with all health and safety policies of the medical practice.13) Maintains a safe, clean and orderly dispensary by complying with Cancer Care procedures, rules and regulations.14) Maintains regular and punctual attendance.15) Complies with all practice policies and procedures including CCAY's Code of Conduct.SECONDARY FUNCTIONS – JOB DUTIES:1) Completes daily payment log and settles payment drawer as needed.2) Establishes and maintains patient records and all required files and records for Dispensary.3) Monitors Drug Recalls-keeping logs and acts appropriately discussing with Oral Leadership team.4) Handles all medication returns to the appropriate dispensing party and discusses with Oral Leadership team.5) Safeguards and retains confidentiality of patient information, using it as only needed to perform legitimate duties.
