* Bachelors degree in Engineering, Business, Management, or similar field; or equivalent experience leading a team in a mill environment
* Minimum of High school diploma or GED required
* 3 - 5 years of experience Steel industry in management, engineering, or similar position
* OR 6 - 10 years of experience in heavy industrial environment, including 3 - 5 years of experience in management position
* Experience in motivating and driving individuals toward a win-win situation
* Management skills to lead a shift team in full autonomy
* Demonstrate high accountability and leading by example
* Ability to work in an operation team environment
* Results-driven with capability of dealing with uncertainty
* Advanced process control knowledge
* Computer skills to include Microsoft Office
* Technical knowledge of melting refining preferred; can be learned on the job
* Technical knowledge of steelmaking preferred

- Perform construction site safety walkthroughs and establish supervisor safety contacts
- Lead training of operations staff and development of operational procedures prior to startup
- Perform miscellaneous tasks to support construction activities including drone mapping for construction progress tracking
- Evaluate and interview candidates for operators positions during hiring process
- Ensure HIRAC safety reviews are performed for operating procedures and contribute to them
- Ensure development of energy control procedures which meet operational needs
- Perform operational early equipment management reviews of OEM equipment
- Contribute to development of equipment commissioning plan and factory acceptance testing (performance guarantees)
- Responsible for Safety, Quality, Environmental and Production of melting refining operations team for the shift
- Lead or participate in incident root cause analysis and corrective actions for major failures: safety incident, environmental deviation, quality deviation, production loss
- Investigates safety, quality, environmental and production incidents during shift
- Check and ensure melting refining comply with environmental regulations
- Ensure operators are appropriately trained to perform duties
- Lead shift team to achieve melting refining performance: production, cost, & quality KPIs
- Communicate and provide leadership and vision to melting refining operators
- Demonstrate and promote AM/NS Calvert Purpose and Values: Safety, Teamwork, Accountability, Relationships, and Sustainability
- Organize the shift work schedule, coordinating vacations and replacements as needed
- Evaluate performance of operators and take actions to develop their skills including disciplinary correctives actions
- Ensure housekeeping is performed by the team in the workplace at any time
