Job Responsibilities

Client Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for commercial clients, addressing inquiries, policy changes, and issues. Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients to ensure their insurance needs are met. Educate clients on various commercial insurance products and recommend suitable coverage options.

Policy Management: Handle the issuance, endorsement, and renewal of commercial insurance policies. Review and prepare insurance proposals and policy renewals. Ensure timely processing of policy applications, endorsements, and certificates of insurance. Maintain detailed records of client interactions and policy updates in CRM or agency management software. Re-shop renewal accounts presenting replacement options to sales teams. Assist clients in filing insurance claims and provide guidance throughout the claims process. Liaise with insurance carriers to ensure timely and fair settlement of claims.

Quality and Control: Conduct risk assessments to identify coverage gaps or opportunities for additional protection. Collaborate with underwriters and carriers to ensure clients receive the best possible terms and coverage. Ensure all transactions comply with industry regulations, legal requirements, and company policies. Maintain accurate and organized documentation of all client interactions and transactions.

Sales Support: Work closely with the sales team to identify opportunities for cross-selling and upselling insurance products. Support business development efforts by providing expert insurance advice and facilitating client onboarding. Maintains relationship with commercial carriers to determine placement appetite and exception rules. Monitors commercial carrier market and makes recommendations for appointments and placement to sales teams.

Job Specific Requirements

+ Responsible to obtain and maintain the required license or certification in an active status

+ Knowledge of commercial insurance products, including property, liability, workers compensation, and professional liability

+ Excellent communication, negotiation, and customer service skills

+ Ability to manage multiple clients and priorities in a fast-paced environment, while operating independently and displaying expert-level of proficiency in minimization of errors & problem solving

+ Ability to work evenings, weekends, & events as required by business need/Leadership directive

+ Working knowledge of computer software and ability to effectively navigate multiple systems

+ Commercial Insurance License required

+ Insurance certifications (such as CIC, CRM, or CPCU) a plus

Physical Requirements

+ Ability to perform routine office tasks that includes operating a computer for long periods of time, sitting, filing and communicating on the phone

+ Ability to perform all physical functions consistent with travel including sitting in airplanes and driving for long periods of time

+ Must be able to lift, carry, push, pull a maximum of 30 lbs

Compensation

The mid-market salary for this position is $70,157.70 to $80,00.00. Starting salary is dependent on several factors including previous work experience, specific industry experience, and skills required. + Bachelors or better in Business Administration

Experience

Required

+ Experience in placement of insurance contracts with premium up to $50K.

+ 6 years: Experience in commercial insurance, underwriting, or account management.

Preferred

+ Experience with Salesforce CRM.
