Job Description:

We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Member Maintenance Associate to join us in making a meaningful impact by helping to maintain the highest standards of service for our clients! This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with State Benefits, including health insurance, paid vacation, paid sick time, paid holidays, as well as retirement.

About the Retirement Systems Division:

The North Carolina Retirement Systems provides retirement benefits and savings for more than 950,000 North Carolinians, including teachers, state employees, local governments, firefighters, police officers, and other public workers. The Retirement Payroll Services Section provides timely benefit payment services to qualified payees of the retirement System, maintains accurate filing records for all payees and balances payroll contribution reports.

The Member Maintenance Associate is responsible for creating and maintaining beneficiary information for all active and retired members of state and local government who are eligible for retirement benefits under the Return of Contribution, Death Benefit, Guaranteed Refund, Separate Benefit Plan for Law Enforcement, and Optional Retirement Program. Member Maintenance Associate creates the necessary correspondence to communicate with members regarding their requests to update their accounts. Specifically, responsible for processing Direct Deposit forms and setting up retiree's financial information to ensure their monthly benefit can be electronically transferred to the financial institution per Retirement policies and procedures.

Job Duties:

* Create and Maintain Beneficiary information for active and retirement members who are eligible for the specific benefit

* Process direct deposit forms for retired and disability members

* Process tax election forms for retired and disability members

* Process change of address form for all members as appropriate

* Considerable knowledge of program policies, procedures, and information systems in order to communicate and process information.

* Demonstrated ability to utilize office equipment and other relevant technology (software and systems) to meet organizational needs.

* Experience identifying and understanding issues, problems, and opportunities and use effective approaches for choosing a course of action or developing appropriate solutions.

* Demonstrated ability to clearly convey information and ideas through a variety of media to individuals or groups.

* Demonstrated ability to present ideas clearly and effectively in written form, adjust language or terminology to meet the needs of the audience, use correct grammar, organization, and structure.

Management Preferences

* Experience reading and interpreting policies, procedures and law.

* Experience responding to email inquiries in a clear and concise manner.

High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and one (1) year of related administrative experience;
