Job Description:

The National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR), a non-profit women's membership organization located in Washington DC, has a full-time opportunity in their DAR Insignia Store. The DAR Insignia Store is an e-commerce retail operation with occasional pop-up shops, that sells jewelry- quality pins and related items to its members across multiple sales channels. Job Responsibilities Include:
  • Accepts, processes, and fulfills member/customer orders from the online store, mail, phone, and other channels.
  • Handles incoming calls to provide exceptional customer service to assist members with placing orders, determining order status or other issues.
  • Travels to conferences to run temporary pop-up shops during conference season (5-6 months of the year). Travel will include weekends.
  • Assists with inventory, from receiving to monitoring levels, and maintains a knowledge of materials and products.
  • Coordinates order processing with in-house engraver and outside vendors.
  • Packages orders and ships item.
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
  • Minimum two years of relevant experience in retail and/or e-commerce customer focused environment. Direct experience with POS systems and e-commerce platforms required.
  • High school diploma.
  • Experience in retail business inventory management and loss prevention practices.
  • Experience in a customer order processing and fulfillment environment, packaging, shipping, and receiving.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to respond to customer requests or questions.
  • Strong computer skills with a good working knowledge of MS Office and spreadsheet software.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., with or without accommodations, for short periods of time.
  • Ability to travel to attend and run pop-up shop sales events.
  • A valid driver's license.

  • Hiring range is between $20.00 - $24.00 per hour, based on skills and experience.
