Job Description:
Position Summary: Under general supervision of Director of Member Services, the Member Services Associate performs professional and technical work of ordinary difficulty in the assistance, planning, implementation, and coordination of services. Performs related work. Reports to: Director of Member Services and Deputy Director of Member Services Direct Reports: N/A Key Relationships: Works closely with the Counseling Unit, Enrollment Unit, and with staff throughout BERS. Responsibilities
  • Coordinates meetings of the BERS Counselors and members of BERS.
  • Serves as a liaison between the members and BERS Counselors.
  • Ensures disability applications are complete prior to submission to the BERS Disability Unit..
  • Communicates with members to schedule appointments.
  • Coordinates with Member Communication department to assist members by phone.
  • Runs and analyzes data reports from BERS systems such as V10 and other Application Programming Interface (API).
  • Maintains and updates knowledge base, accurate records, and protocols.
  • Organizes, creates, and maintains digital and paper filing system.
  • Meets deadlines and works independently while paying close attention to detail.
  • Assist with generating statistical reports.
  • Performs all duties as needed to advance the work of BERS' Member Services unit.
  • Maintains the strictest confidentiality regarding protected health information and personally identifying information.
Qualification Requirements: Minimum
  • High school graduation or equivalent and three (3) years of experience in community work or community-centered activities in an area related to the duties as described above; or
  • Education and/or experience which is equivalent to 1 above.
  • Plus In addition to meeting the minimum requirements, individuals must have two additional years of the experience described in 1 above Preferred
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and SharePoint.
    • Experience with APRL, CHRMS, EIS, PMS, and V3.
    • Demonstrated ability to perform in a fast-paced environment.
    • Team player.
    • Strong communication skills.
    • Experience working in a pension system.
    • Ability to juggle short and long-term assignments while meeting deadlines.
    Salary : $49,486 - $60,000 (Internal candidates who are selected for this position and who currently hold comparable or less senior positions within the DOE will not earn less than their current salary.)
