Georgia 811 is a communication system established to provide one telephone number for excavating contractors and the general public notify utilities of their intent to use mechanized and/or non-mechanized equipment for excavation, tunneling, grading, boring, blasting, demolition or any similar work. This one call system provides the participating utility members an opportunity to locate and identify their underground facilities. Learn more about the company on www.georgia811.com.Position: Member Services Representative / Department: Member ServicesPosition Summary: Maintain the member and excavator database, set up web accounts, troubleshoot calls, prepare member reports, ticket searches, and perform other duties as they become appropriate. Responsibilities:
- Handle calls, emails and web chats from members, contractors, and the general public in a courteous and professional manner.
- Set up accounts for members.
- Maintain the database for members and excavators.
- Manage contact and communication information for members.
- Assist members with various delivery problems (xml, email, etc.)
- Assist members with creating and/or maintaining their service area maps and informs members of discrepancies that are found in their service area coverage.
- Assist members with responding to tickets via Positive Response Information System.
- Prepare reports for members.
- Set up web accounts for members and excavators.
- Perform ticket searches for law firms, members, contractors, and homeowners.
- Liaison between stakeholders and the IT Department regarding system issues.
- Troubleshoot online and Mobile App issues for members.
- Other duties as requested.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum three (3) years of customer service experience or equivalent education.
- Proficient in computer systems, software applications, telephone systems, and proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, etc.).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Excellent organizational and self-management skills.
- Must be able to work as part of a team.
- Must be able to handle multiple priorities.
- Strong data entry skills.
- Must be able to handle multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail and meeting deadlines.
- Always display a positive attitude and remain calm under pressure.
- Comprehensive knowledge of GUFPA, High Voltage Safety Act, Georgia PSC rules and Georgia 811 policies.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time
- Repetitive motions may also be required, such as: wrist / hand movements, grasping, and finger dexterity (as in typing, writing, faxing, filing papers, etc.).Ability to lift 40 pounds independently and lift greater than 40 pounds with assistance.
