Our progressive, welcoming congregation seeks a part-time Membership Coordinator to support our volunteers in their work to welcome visitors and newcomers, and to facilitate opportunities for deeper involvement and membership in our church community.FLSA Status: Non-Exempt, 6 hours per week. Sundays 9:00-12:00 plus 3 other flexible hours. This position is not eligible for benefits.Specific Activities:
- Provide a welcoming presence on Sunday mornings; before, during, and after the worship service.
- Lead regular workshops for welcoming newcomers and visitors
- Work with Membership Committee and Minister to design and coordinate a membership welcome and integration strategy from first visit through first year of membership.
- Be a point of contact throughout the initial entry into the church. Connect visitors and new members to church programs. Help church programs open their ministries to the presence and gifts of newcomers.
- Administrate the Membership Database in collaboration with Staff and Volunteers
- Coordinate Sunday morning volunteer teams of Membership table, Greeters, and Ushers
Minimum Qualifications
- Enthusiasm for engaging and interacting with people.
- Ability to work collaboratively with UUCLB staff and the Membership Committee
- Skill in building community.
- Ability and comfort with speaking in public settings
- Proficiency in written and verbal communications in English.
- Ability to use email, word processing, spreadsheets, social media, Google Drive, Google Docs and Google sheets.
- Ability to use membership databases and learn other new programs as needed.
