POSITION SUMMARYThe Relationship Manager upholds all YMCA safety and member service standards while focusing on positive relationships with all YMCA members, staff, volunteers and guests. The Relationship Manager is an ambassador for the YMCA and should ensure delivery of high standards of cleanliness and customer service while creating a welcoming environment for all. - You'll support the commitment of the YMCA to child abuse prevention by:
- Report any items that may provide a health or safety hazard to staff, members or guests to your supervisor.
- Follow all policies and procedures related to keeping children safe in our facilities and programs, including those related to the monitoring and supervision of children.
- Report any suspicious behavior and violation of policy and procedures to your supervisor.
- Complete all child abuse prevention training as required.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Maintains working knowledge of the facilities and equipment to provide effective information and support to members. Builds effective, authentic relationships with members; helps members connect with each other and the YMCA. Introduces new members to group exercise and virtual communities based their health and well-being goals. Provides excellent service to members, guests, and program participants in the Y and on the phone, contributing to member retention. Connects members with each other and with YMCA small groups. Conducts calls to new and existing members seeking to engage them in YMCA services and activities. Handles and resolves membership concerns and informs supervisor of unusual situations or unresolved issues. Applies all YMCA policies dealing with member services. Practice good listening skills. Take ownership to any problems that arise and resolve them to the best of your ability and in a professional manner. Follows YMCA policies and procedures; responds to emergency situations. Maintains an open line of communication with members and leadership. Work collaboratively with coworkers and association leadership. Ensures a strong focus on character development and diversity, equity and inclusion throughout programming. Ensures YMCA building and property is secure and report incidents and hazardous conditions to supervisor. Reports damaged equipment or safety hazards promptly. Performs any other functions necessary for the smooth and efficient operation of the YMCA of Rock River Valley.QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Previous customer service, sales or related experience strongly preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
- Basic knowledge of computers.
- CPR, AED and First Aid Certifications required within 90 days.
- Praesidium Academy trainings.
- Prefer knowledge of, and previous experience with, diverse populations.
- Proven track record of developing authentic and deepened relationships with others.
SCHEDULE & COMPENSATION1 Position*Position is required to rotate between the 4 branches*Full-Time, Non-ExemptSchedule: Monday - Friday, 10:00 am - 6:00 pm with one weekend rotation per monthWhile this is the primary schedule, flexibility may occasionally be required based on organizational needs.Hours are subject to change.$20.00 per hourThe Y is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.
