Nonexempt (Hourly) $18-$20/hourDate Last Reviewed 9/25/2024POSITION SUMMARY & OVERALL OBJECTIVESThe temporary Membership Services Support Staff role provides outstanding customer service to Boys & Girls Club clients (members, families, volunteers, partners, partners, renters, and community members) by creating a welcoming environment, ensuring the ultimate customer service experience at the McKenzie Regional Workforce Center. The Membership Services Support Staff provide exceptional customer service by maintaining a clean and organized reception area, ensuring all areas of the facility are presentable and in good working order for members, is knowledgeable in the activities offered at the workforce center, greets clients, responds to inquiries in a timely manner, supports the enrollment and payment process and provides some administrative support to the Workforce Development management team. The Membership Services Support Staff person is responsible for accepting the mail and coordinating deliveries and communicating with the responsible staff person. This position may also assist in meeting the staff-to-child ratio when not carrying out primary job responsibilities and may require morning, weekend and/or night hours. Individuals must be organized and enjoy working with the community.The temporary Member Services Support is also expected to be flexible and adaptable, taking on other duties assigned to support the organization's overall objectives.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Greet members, staff, visitors, volunteers, and families.
- Accept incoming phone calls, answer basic inquiries, take messages, and transfer customers to the appropriate staff member.
- Accept mail and packages and provide notifications to the appropriate staff person.
- Ensure the safety of the facility through adherence to safety protocols and procedures.
- Ensure the facility is clear of clutter, in sanitary condition, and good working order
- Review membership applications for accuracy and completion.
- Maintain member attendance and tracking procedures through a membership management system.
- Assist in supervising students while not completing assigned duties as assigned.
- Abstain from personal phone usage when supervising students and/or while providing customer service.
RELATIONSHIPSInternal: As an integral part of our team, you will maintain close, daily contact with Club staff (both professional and volunteer), Club members, and your supervisor. This continuous communication ensures the seamless exchange of information, facilitates discussions on pertinent issues, clarifies guidelines and instructions, provides instruction and guidance, and offers counseling when necessary.External: Externally, you will maintain contact as needed with various community groups, schools, members' parents, and other stakeholders to foster collaborative relationships and assist in resolving any arising issues. By actively engaging with these external partners, you contribute to creating a supportive network and ensuring the well-being of our members within the broader community.REQUIRED HOURS Typical working hours, including required holidays and travel.This is a temporary, hourly, full-time non-exempt position. Therefore, the employee is scheduled to work during the organization's operating hours to meet the organization's needs. The schedule is 12 pm-8:30 pm Monday through Friday.WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL DEMANDS Notable conditions or physical exertion are considered essential duties.Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and policy manuals. The ability to clearly and concisely exchange/receive ideas, facts, and technical information with others. Ability to visually monitor the activities of club members. The employee must be able to perform CPR or first aid. The employee must use hands to handle or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee must frequently stand, walk, climb, or balance, and stoop, jump, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee is required to operate a motor vehicle. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee may occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds. - At least 21 years old, preferred
- At least 18 years old required
- At least 1-year previous customer service preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and/or G Suite
- Previous data entry experience preferred
- Desire to work with youth (ages 5-18) and community members At least one year of driving experience, a WI State Driver's license, and an approved motor vehicle report are preferred.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Diploma/GED/HSED required
- Post-secondary experience preferred
Salary Description $18-$20 per hour
