Join Our Team as Memory Care DirectorRiver Terrace Retirement Community, a skilled nursing facility in Bluffton, IN, is seeking an experienced and compassionate Memory Care Director to lead our Memory Care Program. This is a full-time, day-shift position that includes weekend and on-call responsibilities as needed. The role is vital in providing specialized care to residents with memory impairments, ensuring their dignity, quality of life, and well-being.Position OverviewThe Memory Care Director is responsible for planning, organizing, and directing the Memory Care Program, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, and maintaining the highest standards of care and support for residents and their families.Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a therapeutic program schedule that addresses residents' spiritual, social, emotional, physical, and intellectual needs.
- Oversee daily operations of the Memory Care unit to ensure appropriate and seamless care.
- Collaborate with other department directors to integrate the Memory Care Program into overall facility operations.
- Assess staff educational needs and coordinate dementia-specific training with HR to enhance team competence.
- Provide ongoing program orientation and education for new and current staff.
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation in compliance with regulations and facility policies.
- Serve as a role model for staff in providing high-quality care to dementia residents.
- Support residents and their families in transitioning to the Memory Care unit.
- Be available for on-call responsibilities and weekend coverage as needed to ensure continuity of care.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Social Work, or licensure as an RN or LPN with experience in dementia care.
- Proven leadership experience in a long-term care or memory care setting preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills, with a passion for serving individuals with memory impairments.
