Descriptionwww.bv.org/careers Join our community...Brethren Village Retirement Community, in Lititz, PA, is seeking a Memory Support Unit Coordinator for our Personal Care department. The successful candidate will possess a valid PA LPN or RN license; at least 6 years of related nursing experience; experience in a supervisory role.The Memory Support Unit Coordinator coordinates nursing and social services on behalf of older adult Residents with cognitive impairment, and provides effective leadership, oversight, planning, and administration for the Memory Support unit. The Coordinator promotes the highest standards of care to enhance Residents' physical, cognitive, and emotional well-being , and fosters a work culture focused on quality, professionalism, and service.The Memory Support Unit Coordinator reports to the Personal Care Administrator; serves as a member of the Personal Care leadership team; works collaboratively with RN's and LPN's; provides effective training, guidance, leadership, and supervision to Personal Care Aides. The Memory Support Unit Coordinator completes all work in compliance with relevant state and federal regulations for Personal Care facilities. Work Schedule:
  • Full-time, benefits-eligible, 40 hours per week: Monday through Friday, day shift, plus occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays
RequirementsCore Requirements:
  • a high school diploma or G.E.D.
  • basic computer skills: the ability to access and navigate web sites, and use software, apps, and databases independently
  • the ability to complete online training independently
  • dependability: ability and willingness to meet attendance standards
  • attention to safety: ability and willingness to consistently work in a safe and alert manner, and to report to work fit for duty; commitment to wearing protective equipment as required for the position and adhering to all health and safety standards
  • commitment to treating each Resident, Team Member, and member of the Brethren Village community with respect
Additional Requirements for this Position:
  • a valid Pennsylvania LPN or RN license
  • at least 6 years of related professional experience in nursing, in a Personal Care, Assisted Living, or Skilled Nursing facility
  • professional experience working with older adults with cognitive impairment
  • effective experience in a leadership, supervisory, or mentoring role: the ability and willingness to provide effective training, guidance, coaching, support, direction, and feedback to Personal Care Aides and LPN's, and to work collaboratively with staff for the benefit of Residents
  • an understanding of HIPAA regulations and Department of Human Services regulations
  • a process improvement orientation; the ability to effectively oversee, plan, organize, and coordinate work and projects
  • the ability to work effectively under deadlines and with changing priorities
  • attention to detail and accuracy with work
  • the ability to help lift and transfer Residents when needed; push adult Residents in wheelchairs; stand, walk, and bend frequently during the shift
  • the ability and willingness to work some evenings, weekends, and holidays
