Essential duties and responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 Peer mentoring and a strength based approach for identified participants on a regular or as needed basis.
- Provide assistant to clients in the form of filling out forms, making call, and accompanying clients to appointments/court.
- Maintaining accurate and thorough documentation for all contact, communication, and services rendered with clients.
- Meeting with PRSS supervisor weekly for supervision.
- Mentoring through self-disclosure of personal recovery experiences.
- Accompanying persons and/or help schedule activities that support recovery such as self-help groups, obtaining sponsorship.
- Assistance accessing resources to obtain housing, employment, education, and advocacy
- Other duties as assigned or required.
Personnel Supervised: None Minimum Qualifications: To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:
- High school diploma or jurisdictionally certified high school equivalency
- Obtain a Certified Peer Recovery Specialist Credential (CPRS) through the Minnesota Certification Board.
- Strong ability to relate to and mentor people with life-controlling problems.
- Ability to successfully complete background check process.
- Documented one year freedom from chemical use problems (including tobacco, drugs, alcohol).
- Must possess a MN state driver's license or be willing to transfer out of state license to MN state driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 6-12 months working knowledge in the field of substance abuse use disorder and/or mental health.
- Possess good oral and written communication skills
- Competent computer skills and ability to effectively enter information into various systems.
Physical Demands: Sitting for extended periods of time. Daily use of computer, phone, and other general office and treatment facility equipment. Lifting (max 25 pounds), able to climb stairs, minimal reaching, bending, and stooping. Educational/Experience: High school diploma or jurisdictionally certified high school equivalency
